Really! If you think about it, only five minutes ago, we were all dreading the prospect of a seemingly never ending 2020 complete with devastating bushfires and global pandemic.
Back in March the thinking was that the 2020 disasters here in Australia were never going to end. Now here we are with only three months until Christmas and hopefully with the worst of the “year of never ending disasters” behind us. Wait a minute! Did I just say three months until Christmas? Surely that can’t be right………. No, I just checked, it’s only three months until Christmas.
Is there anyone else out there who would like a 48 hour day? I wouldn’t mind a few extra hours myself. It just seems like there aren’t enough hours in the day. Family, job, picking the kids up from school, friends, social life, mowing the lawn, getting that assignment in on time, writing that report to keep the boss happy etc. etc. etc. Does it never end? Well, yes actually. One day it will all come to a sudden end for all of us. So, while we’re here we need to get the most out of it.

To my mind, family is top of the list. We need to spend more time with family and I don’t mean just the kids. We need to stay in touch with our Parents, all the old uncles and aunties, all our cousins and we especially need to stay in touch with the head of our family……..our dear Grandparents and Great Grandparents. These members of our family are the Patriarchs and Matriarchs of our very existence. They are the oldest links to our past. They are the ones who will likely be around for the shortest time, so we need to take the best care of them and let them know that they have not been lost and forgotten in our busy lives.
Naturally, there are the many other things that we mentioned above that take time out of our busy lives. Many of them are the things that never get done because there is so much else to do. Wash the car! When was the last time you had time to wash the car? I still wash mine every weekend, but whoa, sometimes it’s a tight fit.
